After many years battling alcohol and substance abuse, along with three failed attempts at treatment, Wes got sober in early 2013 at the age of 27. This was almost by accident. He never planned on being completely sober, but after a little investment and with some time put together, he realized there was no going back. He truly enjoyed living with the freedom and purpose a clear mind had given to him.
After working in treatment in various roles until 2016, Wes received his MBA from Pepperdine University and shortly after became a regional manager for IBM. While having left behind direct involvement in the treatment industry, Wes will never be able to forget his own personal struggles or the all the people he has lost to addiction along the way. With this in mind, he continues to stay active in the local community that has helped him achieve so much, and seized upon the opportunity to be involved in something that has the potential to make a difference in the industry that helped save his life. Wes is committed to giving back in any way he can and does so from a place of first hand knowledge and personal investment.
All donations to The Light Fund will be allocated to performing one of two functions. These divisions are compensating staff for their support in screening and placing individuals seeking assistance, and of course funding the full or partial cost of treatment for the people we help.
